As rightly said by Edsgar Dijkstro, “A programming language is a tool that has profound influence on our thinking habits.”

SQL forms the cornerstone of all relational database operations. The ability to write the SQL language is essential for those who develop database applications.

This course is designed to provide a solid foundation of the SQL programming language that enables students to build, query and manipulate databases. Working in Oracle database throughout this course, learners will compare the ANSI/ISO standard with the SQL implementation of this database product.

This course is covering 16 major topics required to learn the complete SQL in 4 LIVE sessions.

Learning Objectives

Understand the basics of Relational Databases
Write SQL code based on ANSI/ISO standards to build and maintain database structures
Update database content with SQL and transaction handling
Retrieve data from single or multiple tables
Process data with row and aggregate functions
Manipulate data with correlated and noncorrelated subqueries
Apply views to break down problems and enhance security

Requirements

  • Learners must have an internet connection
  • Learners must have willingness and desire to learn the programming language
  • Learners should have Basic understanding of instructions in English
  • Learners must be proactively involved in LIVE sessions
  • Software for learners to Install (open source- do not have to buy) 1) MySQL Community Server- latest edition. 2) MySQL Workbench (bundled with the Community Server) 3) Oracle database

Target Audience
